Overview
INTEL CORE ULTRA PERFORMANCE AND DETERMINISTIC CONTROL
The Helix 524-PLC combines Intel Core Ultra processing with a pre-validated software stack from CODESYS for real-time control. The system handles machine control and dual-channel safety functions purely through software using standard onboard interfaces. Equipped with up to 96 GB of DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen4 M.2 storage, the HX524-PLC supports parallel execution of control logic, machine vision containers, and edge analytics on a single hardware platform. Selected processors also support Intel vPro and Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT) for remote out-of-band management.
HARDWARE-ACCERATED FIELDBUS TRANSLATION
To handle high-density industrial communication without compromising system performance, the Helix 524-PLC is available with a range of GPUs and accelerators, including a dedicated Hilscher netX PCIe expansion card. This dedicated chip takes over the heavy lifting of translating factory network protocols including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP. By handling protocol translation on dedicated hardware, the system prevents host CPU slowdowns, isolates network traffic, and maintains sub 1ms jitter for critical real-time tasks while leaving room for additional expansion option
ENGINEERED FOR INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENTS
The Helix 524-PLC features a fanless aluminum and steel enclosure measuring 106 mm x 177 mm x 225 mm and features a 0 to 50°C operating temperature range. Built for complex operational technology environments, the front panel features 4x 2.5 GbE LAN ports powered by Intel I226 controllers, 6x USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and 2x Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports. Bottom panel connectors provide 4x COM (RS-232/422/485) via dual-COM connectors and 2x DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, while the top panel houses an integrated DIO module, a terminal block power input (19 to 24 VDC), and a 3FF SIM slot for wireless connectivity. Mounting options include DIN, Wall, VESA, and VESA.
