Overview
INTEL CORE ULTRA PERFORMANCE AND DETERMINISTIC CONTROL
The Helix 521-PLC combines Intel Core Ultra processing with a pre-validated software stack from CODESYS for real-time control. Running a pre-tuned Windows operating system, the system handles machine control and dual-channel safety functions purely through software using standard onboard interfaces. Equipped with up to 96 GB of DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen4 M.2 storage, the system supports parallel execution of control logic, machine vision containers, and edge analytics on a single hardware platform. Selected processors also support Intel vPro and Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT) for remote out-of-band management.
ENGINEERED FOR INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENTS
The Helix 521-PLC features a fanless, low-profile aluminum and steel enclosure measuring 50.8 mm x 177 mm x 225 mm. With mounting options including DIN, Wall, VESA, and VESA In-Line, it fits easily into crowded control cabinets or space-constrained machine panels. Rated for 0 to 50°C operation, the system carries global safety and electromagnetic compatibility certifications including cULus, CE, FCC, and UKCA, alongside medical and maritime compliance testing (IEC 60601-1-2 and EN 60945).
VERSATILE CONNECTIVITY FOR FIELDBUS AND EDGE DATA
Built for complex operational technology environments, the Helix 521-PLC provides extensive onboard I/O for multi-protocol communication utilizing CODESYS, including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, Fieldbus/PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, and DeviceNet. The front panel features 4x 2.5 GbE LAN ports powered by Intel I226 controllers, 6x USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and 2x Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports. Bottom panel connectors provide 4x COM (RS-232/422/485) via dual-COM connectors, and 2x DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, while the top panel houses an integrated DIO module, a terminal block power input (12 to 24 VDC), and a 3FF SIM slot for wireless connectivity.
