Extracting Actionable Building Automation Analytics

Project Challenges

SkyFoundry creates building automation analytics software that helps their clients derive value from their investments in smart systems. Their SkySpark® platform automatically analyzes data from building automation systems, metering systems and other smart devices to identify issues, patterns, deviations, faults and opportunities for operational improvements and cost reduction. SkySpark is the leading analytics platform for operational data in the built environment. SkySpark is currently deployed at more than 13,000 facilities on 6 continents, where users require a highly-reliable, easy to connect and convenient to install hardware platform on which to image the SkySpark software suite.

The OnLogic Solution

SkySpark supports deployment in a fully distributed architecture, where multiple compute nodes are installed in equipment rooms or cabinets in a wide range of environments that are often subject to extreme temperatures, airborne debris or vibration. These nodes work together in clusters that provide a seamless unified view of system data and analytic results to the user. SkySpark users often turn to OnLogic hardware for these applications to ensure efficient data handling, effective cloud communication and reliable operation. Small form factor systems, like the CL200 Edge Device, are particularly helpful in minimizing the overall installation footprint while offering an affordable solution.

Deployed from the Edge to the Cloud

With the right hardware in place, SkySpark nodes can be clustered together to create what SkyFoundry calls SkySpark Everywhere™. These clusters allow SkySpark nodes to act as a single, seamless, unified system. The distributed architecture can be implemented on low cost edge devices, local servers, or in the cloud.
