Internet of Things Showcase

Event will highlight innovations from select developers of Internet-connected commercial devices.

March 24, 2015 (SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT) - Industrial & embedded computer manufacturer Logic Supply (www.onlogic.com) will exhibit a range of Internet of Things and commercial computing devices at today’s Internet of Things (IoT) Showcase presented by the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade in Washington, DC. Members of the Logic Supply team, along with other industry leaders from across the country including Toyota, Bell Labs, Qualcomm and Corning, will be on hand to demonstrate emerging trends in the evolving IoT landscape.

“Logic Supply is way ahead of the curve in this new frontier known as the ‘Internet of Things’," said Congressman Peter Welch. "Their technology empowers their customers to build smart virtual ecosystems between devices. I'm very pleased to have them on hand to represent Vermont's growing contingent of technology companies."

The Federal Trade Commission defines the Internet of Things as, “the ability of everyday objects to connect to the Internet and to send and receive data,” and they estimate that nearly 25 billion connected devices will be in commerce this year.

“While the IoT is only in its early stages, it holds great promise,” read a Subcommittee statement about the event. “To further growth and development in this space, it is important that Congress understand these emerging technologies to better facilitate future innovation and ensure that consumers are protected in the process.”

Logic Supply provides hardware as a building block for IoT developers, creating gateway systems to support both cutting edge and legacy equipment. The company will present a number of their industrial computing solutions at the event, including their the ML200, ML300 and upcoming ML600 series. Logic Supply systems are engineered to stand up to the challenging environments that IoT applications often present, from intelligent outdoor kiosks and smart digital signage installations, to advanced aerospace tracking devices. Logic Supply hardware also enables cloud connectivity for legacy systems, allowing for IoT functionality without the need to completely retrofit existing facilities.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to represent Congressman Welch,” said Logic Supply VP of Marketing Andrew Swayze who will be on hand at Tuesday’s event. “Interconnectivity has always been a primary feature of our systems and we see today’s Industrial Internet of Things as the next evolution of Machine to Machine communication. Enabling efficient data transfer between independent systems has the potential to revolutionize the commercial computing space in the same way it has begun to impact our day to day lives as consumers.”

The Internet of Things Showcase will take place from 9-11am on Tuesday, March 24th in the Rayburn House Office Building Foyer. More information about the event can be found on the House Energy and Commerce Committee website.
