What Exactly is an Industrial NUC?

By ·Categories: Industrial IoT, Tech Explained·Published On: May 5th, 2016·0.6 min read·

Intel’s popular NUC platform has been an impressive success, largely because it combines a small form factor motherboard with the capabilities and connectivity common on much larger, more expensive systems. But for the industrial computer (IPC) market, the NUC hardware sold directly by Intel isn’t always quite the right fit (pun intended).

In an Electronic Design article, Product Manager Tosha Hawley discusses the key differences between today’s consumer NUCs and their industrial NUC counterparts, including intended uses, reliability concerns and environmental factors, and explains why not all NUCs are created equal. Note that we changed our name from Logic Supply to OnLogic in November 2019.
