ML100 Series Compact Industrial Computers Get a Performance Boost

By ·Categories: Tech Explained·Published On: December 23rd, 2021·2.9 min read·

A compact industrial computer can, quite literally, be the perfect fit for many space constrained applications. A small footprint combined with impressive performance provided by the NUC and 4×4 platforms have helped make our line of ML100 fanless computers incredibly popular. Now the ML100 Series offers even greater performance with the addition of two new Intel and AMD powered systems.

Compact Industrial Computer Features

Small enough to fit in many enclosures yet flexible enough to connect to a variety of peripherals, our ML100 compact industrial computers have become a go-to solution for many embedded systems designers. In addition, the ML100 series’ fanless and ventless design eliminates moving parts to avoid ingress of airborne particulates, especially when combined with a port blocking kit.

Whether you’re securing an ML100 to the back of a monitor or on a DIN rail in a cabinet, its small size and quiet operation make it ideal for many locations. Available wall, DIN, and VESA mounting kits provide multiple options for system placement. 11th Generation Intel® Performance

The new ML100G-53 features the recently released Intel 11th generation of Celeron and Core processors. Formerly known as Tiger Lake, this generation spans across a variety of processors. Configuration options include the energy efficient Celeron up to the Quad-Core, Core i7.

The ML100G-53 Core i5 and Core i7 systems are particularly exciting for machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. Offering Intel’s new Xe integrated graphics for significant performance gains over the previous UHD graphics, it enables multi-device execution utilizing Intel’s OpenVINO software. This means you can combine the processing power of the CPU and upgraded integrated Xe graphics, utilizing them as if they were a single accelerator.

By taking advantage of its more powerful integrated graphics, the ML100G-53 provides a significant leap forward in machine learning and AI performance when compared to previous ML100 models.

AMD Ryzen with Radeon Graphics

The ML100G-41 is also joining our family of compact industrial computers. On the outside, these two models look almost identical. However, the processing platform inside is powered by AMD Ryzen CPUs and Radeon Vega graphics in a 4×4 form factor.

Depending on your application, you can configure the ML100G-41 with either a Quad-Core AMD Ryzen 3 4300U, or an Octo-Core Ryzen 7 4800U processor. Integrated AMD Radeon graphics drive up to four independent displays. Due to high core counts and strong integrated graphics, the ML100G-41 is a great option for multitasking or monitoring multiple dashboards simultaneously.

ML100 Legacy of Configurability

The new ML100G-53 and ML100G-41 carry on the ML100 Series legacy of providing a highly configurable compact computer designed for industrial applications. Though they may be based on different processing platforms, they share a number of configuration options.

Choose up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, M.2 SSD storage up to 1TB, available Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G connectivity options. Looking to connect legacy equipment? An RS-232 COM port can be added to the front panel of the system. You can always get real-time configuration options and pricing by visiting OnLogic.com/ml100 24/7.
