It’s an Embedded World

For three days, OnLogic joined nearly 27,000 people in Nuremberg, Germany to dive into the world of embedded systems. The embedded world conference brought together a global community of like-minded people to discuss the technological challenges of complex embedded solutions.

We were excited to see our partners, customers and potential customers from around the world. But, one of the highlights for us was being recognized for the hard work our team did on our Factor 200 Series

Best in Show

Embedded Computing Design named the Factor 202 Industrial Raspberry Pi ‘Best in Show’ for computer boards and systems! What an honor! We rose to the top from a record number of nominees based on factors (no pun intended!) including: design excellence, relative performance, and market impact/disruption.

With the Raspberry Pi team in attendance at embedded world ‘23, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a photo of the award with their team and share our good news!

Rocking the industry

We had an idea that this product was going to rock the industry, and it’s nice that others also share this opinion. After all, so many builders and makers already leverage Raspberry Pi to prototype their solutions. Now they can easily leverage our expertise in industrial computer hardware together with the Raspberry Pi CM4 and transform that prototype into a reliable and sustainable solution.

To make this Pi even sweeter, it is part of the Inductive Automation ecosystem. That means you can get it pre-configured with Ignition Edge for an out of the box automation solution.

If you saw us at the conference, chances are good that you saw the award. We brought it with us just about everywhere we went.

Favorite things

We had a few other favorite things about the show including the wonderful German food and drink, seeing the innovative embedded solutions and talking about the themes of the conference.

Innovative solutions

One of the innovative solutions that we saw up close and personal was our collaboration with Franka Emika. We showcased one of their next generation robots right in our booth. The Franka Production 3 was powered with our Factor 202 with built-in HMI. This enabled visitors to control the robot to pick up the item on the left, or on the right. It certainly got people talking.

Note that the robot is holding a LEGO version of our Helix 500 in the above picture! We hosted a sweepstakes where attendees of the show had the chance to enter to win the set.

Embedded world themes

While orange was the theme of our booth, and the best-in-show award was the highlight of our trip, the embedded world conference showcased three main themes: embedded, responsible and sustainable. These themes happen to align with our core competencies and values.

Embedded

  • All the components of complex embedded systems were represented at the conference including: IoT sensors, gateways, hardware, software and even the cloud.

Check out our customer stories to see how many businesses from around the world leverage our hardware for their embedded solutions.

Responsible

  • Embedded solutions need to be developed responsibly with safety and reliability top of mind.

Safety and reliability is at the core of everything we do. Our systems are designed for ultra-reliability even in the toughest environments, and they are extensively tested for safety. We have the certifications to prove it!

Sustainable

  • Not only are embedded systems a key component of sustainable applications, but the systems themselves must be sustainable from development to operation and finally disposal at their end of life.

From green energy to smart agriculture, smart cities, and smart buildings, we’ve got experience working with customers driving sustainable innovation. We’re proud that our reliable computers with a long lifecycle are used sustainably for solutions that are changing the world.

If you weren’t able to make the show but want to learn more about our reliable and sustainable solutions for your embedded solution, we have a team ready to help you – contact us!

Editor’s Note: Inductive Automation has ended their Ignition Onboard program. Ignition licenses must now be purchased directly through Inductive Automation. While the IGN versions of our solutions are no longer available, our computers remain a great fit for use with Ignition software. Explore our recommended hardware here.
