AU120 Automotive System

With over 40 cases, 150 mainboards and over 1546 combinations, it’s no wonder selecting the right system can get complicated. Most people know more about what they don’t need than what they do which makes finding the right product mix a bit tricky. And if you’re a Mini-ITX “newbie,” finding the right combination of cases and motherboards is nothing but overwhelming.

But never fear, we’re here to help.

To get a better understanding of your needs ask yourself the following questions before you begin your search. This will help you narrow down features to create the system that best fits all your needs.

  • What is the primary use of my system? What industry are your working in? Are you working in digital signage? Will your system serve as a Point-of-Use or Kiosk? Or are you putting this system into an automotive application?
  • What environment is the system going to be used in? Is your system likely to get wet, dusty, grimy or live in varied temperatures?
  • How much space will my system need and where will it be placed? Will you need a smaller unit that needs to fit under a car seat or do you need one that can withstand the heat of a server room? Or maybe you need it to be mounted.
  • What inputs and outputs will I need? What peripheral devices will you need your industrial computer to transfer data to?  Will it need audio, USB ports, etc.,?

Once you’ve established what you’re looking for, visit our Solutions Pages where you’ll find segments of our offerings by industry type. On these pages you’ll learn about some of our customer’s applications that might relate to your project and suggestions on hardware that is typically a good fit and why. This is a great place to start to find out more about Mini-ITX and its capabilities.

If you are searching for a pre-configured system, visit our Systems Page to search by capabilities and processor class. From here you can dig deeper into each section and explore our offerings more deeply.

All our systems are, by default, configured to the most basic hardware offering, which can be upgraded (using the drop-down lists) depending upon your requirements. However, the basic system page does not completely disclose all features of the mainboard, power supply, chassis or other accessories. To truly learn about all the features of the system, you’ll need to literally reverse engineer your configuration. Each component in your system will appear elsewhere on our site as a stand-alone product. This product page will have detailed specs, pictures, and downloadable manuals that will allow you to learn more about that particular component of your system. To find that product, you can use our search bar in the top left corner of every page or link to the products section previously mentioned.

If you still have questions we’d be glad to assist you in any way we can so give us a call 802.861.2300 option 1, or Email us.

My fascination with computers began when I got my first real job with a real desk and a Wang computer. The screen was actually black with green characters. As a life-long writer, I was thrilled because I could type faster than I could write. Technology has obviously evolved since then and continues to evolve at a rapid pace. We’ve come a long way since the Wang computer and I am looking forward to being a part of where we're going.
