A Few Things We’re Looking Forward to at ICCX

It has been a while. The last time our team was able to exhibit at an in-person event was back in 2019. So when we found out that Inductive Automation’s Ignition Community Conference was going to be back IRL (with a bonus Part II, virtually) we were pretty excited to send in our RSVP. And by pretty excited, we mean we were super excited.

On September 20-21, a handful of OnLogic-ers will be in Folsom, California to participate in the celebratory 10th year of the Ignition Community Conference – aptly referred to as ICCX. Will we see you there? Hint: just look for the orange tablecloth.

What is ICC?

Hosted by Inductive Automation, the Ignition Community Conference “gathers the leading minds in industrial automation to exchange ideas, inspiration, and technology.” The keyword for this event is definitely community. ICC provides the space for Ignition community members (integrators, thought leaders, early adopters, IA strategic software partners) to meet up, connect, share projects, hear from thought leaders, and celebrate the future of automation, together.

The 2-day schedule is packed with keynotes, breakout sessions, industry panels, and the return of the integrator Build-a-Thon. According to Cole Wangsness, Partnership Leader at OnLogic, “ICC is a great place to connect with friends across the Ignition community. I always look forward to sharing ideas and exploring what the future of the automation industry looks like.”

This time around, our partners at Inductive Automation have established a hybrid model, with two ways to attend: the ticketed event in Folsom, CA, and a free virtual event two weeks later. As Platinum Sponsors of ICCX, you can come meet our team at booth #6 in-person at the Harris Center for the Arts, where we will have an array of hardware solutions to explore, a demo ft. Ignition, and a few other surprises.

Top 5 things we are most excited about

Have you already had a look at the agenda? There is a lot to be excited about. But, here are our Top 5.

  1. Seeing our partners at Inductive Automation in-person, again! We are looking forward to connecting face to face with familiar friends, and meeting new members of the team.
  2. The expansion of our Integrator Program. We’re excited to grow our community, talk with attendees about what we’ve added to the program, and get people signed up. Read more about that, below.
  3. The return of the Build-A-Thon. Does it need any further explanation?
  4. The Discover Gallery. This is for sure one of the highlights for our team. We love getting the chance to see all the exciting Ignition-based projects Integrators have come up with.
  5. The Agenda! The organizers have put together an impressive lineup. Here are a couple of sessions we absolutely do not want to miss:

The Main Keynote: “Celebrating the growth and Innovation of the Ignition Community” – this is a great opportunity to find out new features of Ignition, and provides a valuable review of the year.

Learning Ignition Fundamentals: as our team continues to grow, this is a great introduction to Ignition.

Sessions covering Enterprise Deployments & Cloud:

  • Davin McDougall’s session “How Far We’ve Come – Ignition Across the Enterprise” (Brock Solutions)
  • Arlen Nipper’s session on“ Ignition the new enterprise connection platform” (Cirrus Link)
  • Travis Cox and Kevin McClusky’s session on “Modern Cloud Deployment Strategies” (Inductive Automation)

Why are we going to ICC?

Firstly, we are part of the community. So being able to be there and be a part of this event creates opportunities for idea exchange, partnership, and to gain inspiration. In addition, it is an opportunity to highlight new solutions that can enable Ignition integrators to drive innovation in the industrial automation space. As part of the Ignition Onboard program, we work directly with Inductive Automation to certify hardware solutions and offer Ignition Edge software licenses directly in order to make deployment easier for end users.

We’ll also be announcing an addition to our growing line of hardware for advanced SCADA and industrial automation applications. This system will be featured at our booth at ICC, so stay tuned for that update. Coming soon!

Plus, this will be the first ICC for a number of our team members. For Amber Cobb, Partner Alliance Manager at OnLogic, this event is part of the larger discussion of digital transformation. “Automation is the driving force behind the digital revolution, which is transforming industrial spaces in an unprecedented way. ICC is THE place to learn from the technologists powering it all. I am energized to have the opportunity to hear from key thinkers and leaders within the community.”

Expansion of  OnLogic’s Integrator Program

One of the points mentioned in our Top 5 list was the expansion of our Integrator Program. Are you a systems integrator for Ignition? We invite you to join the community that’s powering digital transformation using OnLogic hardware. By joining the newly expanded program, you will gain access to a number of exclusive benefits, including:

  • Collaboration opportunities
  • Access to events & roundtable discussions
  • OnLogic brand kit
  • Super cool socks!

If you’re going to be at ICC, stop by our booth to speak with Jason Kovarik more about what the OnLogic Integrator Program includes, and get details about how to sign up. Not able to make it to the in-person event? You can reach out to our team for more information on how to get involved. You can also see for yourself some of the solutions we’ll be showing off at the show by visiting our Ignition Edge Gateways page.

We hope to see you at ICCX!

Editor’s Note: Inductive Automation has ended their Ignition Onboard program. Ignition licenses must now be purchased directly through Inductive Automation. While the IGN versions of our solutions are no longer available, our computers remain a great fit for use with Ignition software. Explore our recommended hardware here.
